Funding
We accept the standard 15 hour funding and extended 30 hour funding. All families are entitled to 15 hours funded childcare each week from the term after their child’s 3rd birthday. Eligible working families can apply for 30 hours funded childcare each week once their child is 9 months old. 15 funded hours of early learning support is available for those families of 2 year olds who get additional support e,g on universal credit or with an EHCP.
If additional hours are required, these are charged at £7 per hour.

- Autumn term 2025 starts on Thursday 4th September
- Autumn half term Monday 27th October to Friday 31st October
- End of Autumn term Friday 19th December
- Spring term 2026 starts on Wednesday 7th January
- Spring half term from Monday 16th February to Friday 20th February
- End of Spring term Friday 27th March
- Summer term 2026 starts on Tuesday 14th April
- Summer half term from Monday 25th May to Friday 29th May
- End of Summer term Tuesday 21st July
We have five inset (training) days each school year when the staff are working but the setting is closed for the children. This year those are 03/09/25, 05/01/26, 06/01/26, 13/04/26 and 22/07/26.
There are many other activities happening during the year including information sessions, coffee mornings, fundraising events, sports day etc. Dates available for those who attend.
Additionally, we usually have a trip out for the older children, the Oaks (date to be decided and funds permitting) Playgroup is closed for Acorn children on that day.
