Role of the Committee

Tweseldown Playgroup is owned and run by the parents. At the beginning of each academic year we select a new committee of parents who are willing to help make playgroup the success it is. Parents can do as much or as little as they like and choose whether they want to take on a specific role. The committee is headed by three officers, the Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer; who are supported by the rest of the committee and we meet approximately every six weeks. We work in close partnership with staff to ensure we are responsive to the needs of Playgroup.

Our primary responsibility is to run the business side of playgroup and we are very active in the day to day running, including helping in playgroup. Additionally, we are responsible for fundraising in order to purchase new toys and equipment for the children. We have several fundraising events during the year including raffles, holiday club, dressing up week and our renowned summer fair. Being part of the committee allows parents to voice their opinions, enhance their CV with new skills and have lots of fun along the way; including social events such as our Christmas Party. For more information about the committee please ask at playgroup.

Our AGM is held in the autumn. Please ask a member of staff or a member of the committee for more information.
